Colt Cowls achieve ISO 14001 status!

Kaysted Ltd, owners of Colt Cowls have highlighted their desire to try and reduce their impact on the environment by recently being awarded with ISO 14001 certification.

What is ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard that provides a framework for organisations to have an effective environmental management system.  It provides assurance to company management, employees and customers that environmental impact is being measured and continually improved.

Why does it matter?

James Stedman, Managing Director of Kaysted Ltd comments.

‘The environment matters more than anything else. Having a framework that enables a company to comply with its legal responsibilities, whilst helping to educate and engage staff on environmental issues is essential in the modern world. More than that, we at Colt Cowls want every one of our customers from the PLC’s right through to the end users to understand how importantly we take our responsibilities towards the environment’

What’s next?

The company has invested a lot of time and effort, not to mention money in gaining the new accreditation but the work does not stop there. ‘We know our customers care about the environment, you would be living in the dark ages not to! The ISO 14001 standard and framework allows us to continually look at ways to lessen our impact on the environment. For example, we have recently had a major packaging overhaul. Around 90% of packaging for our top 10 chimney cowls is now made entirely of recyclable material, that was not the case 12 months ago. The next step is of course 100% of all packaging! But that’s the way ISO 14001 works, you are continually looking for environmental savings’ comments James Stedman.

Colt Cowls will now be featuring the symbol below to show products that have recyclable packaging. Shortly the new 2023 Colt Cowls Catalogue will also be available which is set to feature the new ISO 14001 logo as well.
